Meet the vendor!

Cecibel Martinez sells (mostly silver) antiques, but she comes from a long line of silver craftsmen. The proud inheritor of a great family tradition, Cecibel has this 1972 photograph showing her mother and grandparents selling silver on the sidewalk of La Paz taped to the wall of her store. She herself has been in the silver business for over 30 years.

Gorgeous silver serving spoons purchased from our friend Cecibel Martinez. Cecibel, whose family has been in the silver biz in various capacities since the mid-1800s (crafting it, buying it, selling it), has a lustrous little shop on the main drag of Calle Sagarnaga, near the Catedral de San Francisco.
