We really, really wish we could squeeze our bums onto a chair as cute as this one, but we’ll have to leave it up to the toddlers. Hand-carved and hand-painted, this chair was crafted at the workshop of siblings Vicente and Brisia Hernandez, 3rd generation artisans who’ve been practicing their art for 40 years. The Hernandez workshop is located in San Martín Tilcajete, one of two major centers for alebrije—the fantastically painted folk art sculptures that owe their life to one ill artist’s fever dream.
