    With the city under a strict curfew, Hanoi’s ballroom dancing started to go underground. Students began organizing covert dance parties in their homes, playing rock and roll music smuggled up from the South. In barely lit rooms with blanketed windows, the city began waltzing once again, this time to the songs of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
