• In other words, it’s a hell of a lot of work, but the weavers of Bonwire are a persevering bunch; different Kente designs have their own names—variously derived from proverbs, events, and important historical personages—and when we asked Eric about the design he was weaving he told us that it was called Empaoba or “never give up.”
