• But Mumbai is all about “dhanda” (Hindi for “transaction”), and nobody selling a Star Tortoise is going to judge you for buying one. A trading city pretty much since the beginning, there is a spirit in Mumbai both non-judgmental and tolerant that is as unique to the city as the yellow basalt arch—aka The Gateway of India—that welcomes you to it.
