• A Vegetable Market in Yangon, Burma

This street market tucked between the busy streets of downtown Yangon radiated vigor, as vendors advertised their fresh vegetables, which were thoughtfully arranged like fine objects. The aroma of fermented tea leaves cut the air, the central ingredient of the musty delicious signature salad of the golden land, laphet thoke. Burmese cuisine is bright and nuanced and tastes just like the borders of this Southeast Asian country. The warmth of Indian spice, the milky curries of Thailand, the savory kick of China and the fresh crunch of Vietnam meld together to satiate anyone in search of habit forming taste adventures.
