• The Forbidden City, Beijing, China

In the center of Beijing lies the Forbidden City, home to Emperors of the Ming Dynasty from 1420 to 1912. The palace was turned into a museum after Chairman Mao’s cultural revolution but it is still full of history and centuries old secrets. Wander the 180 acres with nearly 1,000 structures and get lost in the tiny alleyways and courtyards within these palace walls.

Photography and words by Jacqueline Frank. In this feature "The Traveler", people from around the world share their travel stories and street -market finds.
