  Jaipur, known as the pink city, is the capital of Rajasthan. Long ago the Maharajas of the region invited skilled artisans and craftsmen to work for them, and so they settled here and in villages nearby. Jaipur is now a center for arts and crafts and has generations of master stone and wood carvers, block printers and jewelry makers. Even though it is a large bustling city, it has the charming feel of a big village.
